Frequently Asked Questions

Q1 I think I can find my way to both Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, but how do I get to Kluang from there?
A1 There are a number of options depending on how you wish to travel. Click on the link to the 'Travel Info' page for full details and more
Q2 I'm not sure that I want to go to Kluang as it would have changed so much, it can never be the same.
A2 Well you can't halt progress. Yes, Kluang is a much larger town than it was in the late 60's. However the town centre that we all remember hasn't changed hardly at all. The Garrison is also unchanged, almost to the last detail.
Q3 Should I bring cash or travelers cheques (TC's)
A3 As for any other place in the world, including UK, you are advised  not to carry too much cash. You should bring sufficient for transportation etc and the first few days and the rest in travelers cheques. There is at least one bank in Kluang where TC's can be changed. I seem to remember that some of the 2002 party also managed to get cash on a credit card as well. Otherwise ATM's are plentiful.
Q4 What happens if I have an accident or am taken ill whilst in Kluang, what medical facilities are available?
A4 The Hotel has a G.P. on standby in case of emergencies and there is a General Hospital in Kluang, however facilities are fairly basic. Both Singapore and Kuala Lumpur have excellent medical facilities and are only 2 or 3 hours away. You are advised to take medical insurance before you leave home. If you are on prescription, bring along sufficient medications to cover your holiday.
Q5 Do I need to get vaccinations before traveling to Malaysia?
A5 You are advised to consult your Doctor before traveling for advice on vaccinations and medication that you may need during you visit to Malaysia and any other countries on your itinerary.
Q6 How do I make my hotel reservations and how will I settle my bills?
A6 Hotel reservations will be made directly by each guest. Contact Iris Teng at Four Seasons Ruili Sales Dept directly by E-Mail salesruilikluang@gmail.com or by using one of the following means: Telephone +60 7 7711111 (switchboard),  +601117638996 (mobile) , Whatsapp to +601117638996. You will need to provide a credit card number and the expiry date. Note: 50% deposit is required and cancellations should be made at least 72 hours prior to the event to avoid a 1/2 day penalty. Please mention "75 Aircraft Workshop".
All 'in hotel' functions will be charged directly to your room and will be settled together with the room bill when you check out. There will be additional shared expenses that you will settle with the organisers. These will include costs such Coach hire, Administration Expenses, etc. These additional expenses should not be excessive.
Q7 Are there any particular items that I need to bring along that may not be available in the Malaysian shops?
A7 Apart from medication as described above, most other consumer items are readily available in Malaysia.
